27 vivid pictures of how high fashion in Africa looks

Surim and Mursi tribes living in Southern Ethiopia are distinguished by a special love for beauty and are really passionate about external attractiveness. As you will see in the pictures below, aesthetics play a huge role in the life and culture of members of these African societies. They constantly decorate themselves, come up with new outfits and accessories from everything that comes to hand. Members of the tribe have learned to very successfully use for this purpose many gifts of nature: dry herbs, flowers, mineral pigments, volcanic dust and so on.

The German photographer Hans Sylvester captured these beautiful and amazing people with a subtle sense of harmony and beauty in his photographs. Pictures become even more valuable in the light of recent political events and instability, which could entail the complete disappearance of tribes. Already, most of the men of surrogate and mursi carry weapons everywhere, and tourists are allowed to approach tribal territories only with armed guards.
