British Royal Society of Biologists Announces Annual Photo Contest Winners

Over 2,500 photographs were submitted to the Royal UK Biologists' annual photo contest. Every year amateur photographers and novice photographers send their best pictures related to biology to the contest, revealing a specific topic in this area. The theme of this year was "Patterns in nature."

As a result of the contest, Roberto Bueno became the photographer of the year, thanks to an interesting image of traces of larvae left on leaves in the Yukon Valley in Canada. The 17-year-old Jack Olive was awarded the title "Young Photographer of the Year" for his astounding portrait of a leopard gecko. It is also surprising that the youngest finalist of the competition was only 10 years old, which means that love and interest in biology cover an incredibly wide age range.
