Chinese artist creates sculptures of women inspired by the Renaissance

Chinese artist Luo Li Rong creates life-size bronze sculptures of women inspired by the technique of Renaissance and Baroque sculptures. Her sculptures are dynamic, her dresses seem to flutter in the wind. The artist is so attentive to details that every fold of bronze “fabric” is guaranteed to be exactly where it should be.

Rong studied at the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts for many years under the guidance of sculptor Wang Du. Later, she turned her attention to the sculpting methods used by European artists during the Renaissance and Baroque. The technique of those times so captivated the girl that she began to determine most of her contemporary works.
