Turkish bath or Hammam al-Bash in the Israeli city of Acre

I go to the Hammam Al-Bash Museum, take a ticket from a shabbat-frayed pocket from my pocket, ask for a passport, take my passport, hang an audio guide around my neck and push it with the words “faster, faster” into the next building, where there is twilight, nothing is visible, and even the door is behind they cover me o

Looking ahead, I don’t know why it was “faster” - I was alone in the museum! But at that moment, I only think that my passport is somewhere out there (somehow I’m not used to parting with documents ... why did I even give it away ?!), and tomorrow I have a flight from Tel Aviv to St. Petersburg ...

... and about who in their right mind will go to museums when the city itself is like a museum, but I was afraid of boredom waiting for the Shabbat in Acre and bought a single ticket to all museums almost immediately, as I went into the old city, not to disappear )

So - the door closed, my eyes got a little used to the darkness, the projector lit up, and a voice gurgled in the headphones around the neck telling the story of the appearance of the Turkish hammam back in the 17th century.

For the first seven minutes I sit obediently on a stool, like a schoolboy, and listen to the film, which was made in the form of a conversation of several generations of hammam owners, and only then I start to look around.

When the audio guide offers to go to another room, I turn and! Shine! Water vapor, bubbling water - a completely unexpected interactivity.

If they still gave flip flops and towels))

A hammam is not just a bathhouse and a tradition, it used to be a center of cultural life where you could relax and discuss business matters.

Around the created light, I generally walked in circles, photographing from different angles. In addition, until the tour ends, the exit door will not open)

If you are in Acre, look there! )
