I just read reviews about hotels, because I am preparing a trip and slowly go nuts. I will make a reservation right away, I am not looking for 5 * class hotels, I am not considering super-duper-luxury rooms. No, I look at the usual tourist options 2-3-4 * without claims to luxury. And every time, choosing hotels and reading reviews, I understand that, having paid for 2 *, the tourist wants the service to be the same as in 5 * and preferably in the presidential suite.

So, what is most often dissatisfied with tourists in hotels? I’ll note right away that I take only Russian-language reviews so that they don’t talk about the difference in mentality or the curvature of the translation.

Bed sheets and bath towels are not changed daily.

So when I see this, I'm just trying to understand what people are doing with linen and towels, what needs to be replaced after every night? And these are not beach hotels where a towel can be dragged to the beach and stained there, these are ordinary hotels in cities. There is only one thought that on those sheets every night someone is deprived of virginity, and the floors are washed with towels.

Furniture is not very new

Well, here I partially agree, if the bed creaks like an injured elephant during any movement, and the cabinet doors fall off, then a lot of unkind words fly to the hotel owner. And if the furniture is not very new, but normal, then I don’t see a reason for complaints.

The number in reality does not correspond to what is in the photographs and in the description

A couple of times, too, fell into this. What to do in such cases, I do not know. Of course, if you come to the hotel for a long time, then you can probably scandal, but if for 1-2 nights? What do you do in such cases?

The lack of a kettle, a refrigerator

If I do not consider the refrigerator a primary necessity at the hotel, then the absence of a kettle in the description of the room in 90% of cases is a reason not to choose this hotel.

Used shampoos, shower gels, soap do not renew

I myself have not encountered this, but in general, is it really interesting to save a hotel or a school of maids?

Poor sound insulation

The most common complaint. Unfortunately, almost everywhere in economy and middle class hotels you can perfectly hear what the neighbors do from above, from the side, who walked along the corridor and who took a shower. I don’t know how in luxury hotels, but for the rest you just need to have ear plugs with you if you have a sensitive dream.

Shoals with payment for accommodation

I have often read reviews in the reviews that the hotel manages twice, or even three times, to withdraw money for the hotel and seek a refund through the support of Booking or other booking sites. I did not encounter this, but with the fact that they wrote off the amount more than necessary, I ran into Athens. An attempt to solve everything on the spot was unsuccessful, because the hotel manager didn’t even listen to us. Moreover, the error was only 12 euros and if the manager recognized it, I would not even demand a refund. And so I had to connect the Bucking and the money returned.

Inattention, rudeness of staff

For me, in today's reality, when not a tourist is fighting for a hotel, but a hotel for a tourist, this is generally nonsense, but for the first time they themselves again faced in Athens.

Overbooking

You arrived at the hotel, but you were not expected. The reasons can be different - from a technical malfunction to the staff’s assiduity, but isn’t it easier for you? We have been in this situation twice. In Spain, one of the two numbers turned out to be busy, as it turned out, the administrator could not explain, because both armor clearly shone on his monitor screen. As a result, we were given the number of the following tourists, and I don’t know where they settled them. The second time in Lisbon, the owner of the mini-hotel simply said that he had forgotten about us and in general had a lot of things to do with him. We arrived in the evening, to look for a hotel in an unfamiliar city, we no longer had the strength, as a result, we slept in a half-lived attic, and our friends on some mattresses in a semi-storage room.

Inaccurate topographic location of the hotel

You were promised that from the hotel to the city center - 5 minutes on foot, but apparently got very excited, because in 5 minutes you get only to the metro, which in 10 more will reach, finally, to the right point. You bought a hotel on the second line from the sea, but you forgot to write in the description that this second line is one and a half kilometers from the beach.

This is the only moment that can be avoided even before booking - you just need to find the hotel on the map and see how it is really conveniently located.

- Instead of the promised air conditioner, they offered a hairdryer

- Found funny insects in the room

- Left the dog in the room, the maid for some reason did not begin to clean
