Stewardess saved the girl from sexual slavery, thanks to her observation

One quick-witted stewardess rescued a teenage girl from the hands of traffickers when she noticed that something was wrong with a young Alaska Airlines passenger from Seattle to San Francisco.

“Something in the back of my mind told me that something was wrong,” says 49-year-old Sheila Frederick from Alabama, recalling the incident that happened to her in 2011. The girl on the plane, who looked 14-15 years old and seemed to be in total hell at that moment, traveled with an elderly man who did not allow her to speak and answer questions of the flight attendant. "He was well dressed, and that put me on my guard because she at the same time looked disheveled and didn't feel very well."

Realizing that she needed to act quickly, Sheila quietly told the girl to go to the restroom, where the stewardess left her a note on the mirror. “She wrote on a note that she needed help,” recalls Frederick, who immediately went to the pilot and told what was happening. They called the police, and when the plane landed in San Francisco, law enforcement officials were already waiting for them at the terminal. Today, a girl free from sexual slavery is already in college. In her life, everything is fine thanks to Sheila's attentiveness and quick wit.

It should be noted that annually from 600,000 to 800,000 people who are victims of traffickers are transported across the borders of different states. About 80% of them are women and girls, about 50% are minors. “If you notice something strange, just say so,” asks Sheila Frederick.
