For more than a month, large-scale mass protests and strikes continued in France. Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to take part in demonstrations aimed at repealing the new government labor law. There were some hassles with the police, arson, fireworks and paint.
People simply could not calmly accept the new reform, because according to it, employers have the opportunity to increase the number of working hours bypassing trade unions, negotiating directly with employees. In addition, the procedure for dismissing employees is simplified.
The words of President Francois Hollande also "added fuel to the fire." He stated that he would not change his decision regarding the new law and advised the protesters not to waste time.
