On the beaches of the Andaman Sea. Bangkok. Muang Boran Park

This time, completing the Thai trip to Bangkok, I wanted to avoid the standard pre-flight shopping program and see something new. The choice fell on the park Muang Boran (Mueang Born or Ancient Siam), claiming the title of the world's largest open-air museum.

The park is located on the territory of more than 350 hectares, where more than 120 buildings were built, in real life scattered throughout Thailand and built at different times by different rulers of Siam. Most of the buildings are copies (often full-size) of the not preserved masterpieces of Thai architecture. Another group - real objects transported from various regions of the Kingdom. The third is the result of the creative design of the sculptors and artists of the park.

The museum was founded by a Thai patron millionaire named Lek Viriyaphant. The mission of the park is to preserve the cultural heritage of Thailand, to enable a large number of Thais and foreigners to get acquainted with the pearls of ancient architecture.

The construction of the museum began in 1960 and continues to this day. The museum was opened to the public in 1963 and recently celebrated its fiftieth anniversary.

The work of masters is sometimes so skillful that it is very difficult to distinguish a remake from ancient buildings:

I wonder how many gardeners do I need to keep such a territory in order?

The most beautiful building of the park is a replica of a palace of amazing beauty:

Replicas of royal boats are placed on artificial channels:

And this is the fantasy of modern sculptors:

Very beautiful arbor:

In general, if you have seen the main attractions of Bangkok, I can say that this is not a bad place to spend a whole day, especially with children.
