A unique Japanese hotel that is over 1300 years old!

Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan is the oldest hotel in the world and is located in the Japanese village of Hayakawa. Founded in 705, the hotel celebrates its 1311th birthday. Particularly surprising is the fact that all this time a unique hotel has been owned by the same family, in which 52 generations have already changed!

In addition, over 13 centuries of the hotel’s existence, it was closed several times only for repairs. The last reconstruction took place here in 1998. The interiors of Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan are a reflection of the traditional Japanese style, combined with all the necessary modern amenities. But you will not find television and the Internet here: everything in the hotel is aimed at providing the guests with ideal conditions for relaxing the soul and mind.

The main feature of the hotel is the hot baths fed by underground sources.

The hotel is located in a mountain valley, so that all have mountain views.

The menu includes traditional Japanese dishes.

The house is heated by hot springs, all the water in the hotel is from there. There is even a fountain at the entrance.

Another bath inside the house.

The hotel has 35 rooms, all furnished in a traditional Japanese style. In each room, at one time, emperors, military leaders and samurai stayed.

People come here to relax from the noise of information and to be alone with themselves.

Some rooms have access to a private stone pool. And those who are tired of swimming can sit in the sauna.
