Gaudi's magnificent creation - Vicens House in great detail

In 1885, the unrivaled Antonio Gaudi completed the Vicens House - his first of many large and expensive orders. A stunningly beautiful Art Nouveau building with Moorish elements fit perfectly into Catalan modernism - a style that Gaudi himself created and perfected.

Photographer from Barcelona David Cardelus in his series of photographs "Photographing Heritage" in detail shows what makes the creation of the Spanish architect so special. Like other works by the maestro, Vicens House is famous for its delicate and graceful elements, including hand-painted mosaics, multi-layered arches and geometric motifs. In addition, the building is famous for its bright color palette, which Cardelus perfectly managed to emphasize in the photographs.

Cardelus says that color is his favorite thing in architectural photography, because it helps to instantly attract the attention of the viewer and set the mood for the picture. He always tries to capture color, lines and shapes as harmoniously as possible with respect to a limited frame and convey the integrity of the concept of an architectural work.
