But why were human remains from the Atacama desert so small and so unusual in structure? Then scientists could not answer this question, and supporters of the extraterrestrial origin of "Ata" took this as an argument in their favor.

Scientists needed several more years of painstaking work before they could answer, which caused the formation of such an unusual skeleton. Genetics took up a more complete decoding of the genome and found out that the child suffered several congenital diseases at once. Six dozen genomes were discovered that had abnormalities. Negative mutations associated with impaired collagen synthesis and premature aging have led to the fact that the skeleton has acquired such an unusual appearance. According to the researchers, the girl died before her birth or lived an extremely short time.

Harry Nolan believes that the body of "Ata" should be returned to Chile for further burial. The studies are completed, and the resulting material will help scientists in the study of rare human genetic diseases.
